Would you like Rice Crispies with that?

Saturday morning, I thought I would wake up having a wonderful morning. Indeed I did have a wonderful morning. Kylie woke up singing in her crib. Diaper full with no socks on feet. Kylie has a guilty pleasure of loving socks. She likes to play with them, put them in her mouth and throw them on her head. In fact, Steve and I gave Kylie a variety of colored socks wrapped in a shit box for Christmas. She absolutely loved them.

I took Kylie downstairs after her "baff" and did her hair. I decided to make it curly and make it fancy in the front by sectioning off areas of her hair and wrapping them in ponytail holders. She looked adorable after I was done and she was very curly.

Kylie's favorite thing for breakfast is Rice Crispie Cereal. While eating her breakfast, Kylie decides to lean forward. While leaning forward, I was turning my head to the side and looking at Steven doing something in the dining room. All of the sudden, I feel something wet all over my leg and looked at my daughter. Here in front of me is this little girl with her beautiful hair COVERED in rice crispies and milk. The milk was dripping all over the place. I then looked down at my lap. This is where the majority of the cereal went. Needless to say, Steve had to come to my rescue and help with the situation. Another bath for Kylie and a well deserved shower for mommy too. I wish that I would have taken a picture of this event. It was a very picture perfect moment.

Note to self,,,,,,,ALWAYS watch your daughter while she's eating. Do not let her lean forward. Do not look at husband while trying to feed child. BAD IDEA!

What's your craft?

My best friend Katie and I are very crafty individuals. We always have been. From making RTD2 Robott pencil holders, to Shark Boy news cronicles, we have always enjoyed our creative sides.

Reciently, Kates and I went to the Clay Cafe in Sewikley. I love this place. This is a place where I can just unwine and use my creative juices. Katie had never been there and was very anxious to go. Katie and I would have spent all day there, but unfortunatley we had to remember that we have responsibilities and had to go back to being mommies again.

Here is a picture of Katies design. She decided to pick something creative to desplay on her craft workplace in her home. She was very nervous of the outcome, but it turned out really quite beautiful. She did a really good job picking out the colors. I love the green's and oranges.

This is my creation. I decided to make this cute jewerly/trinket box for Kylie. It has an angel on the top that I tried to make look like her.

That was a fun day for Katie and I and we hope to go back soon.

Kate and I are planning on handling the craft world to actually sale our stuff. People tell me all the time that I should do a craft show and I never did one. I decided to ask the most creative person I know to do a show with me and so here we are creating. Right now I am working on making explosion boxes. What is an explosion box? Well, it is simply a box made from decritive card stock and when opened, the pages inside explode with various pictures and beautiful papers for various ocations. These are fun to make and I love designing them.

Here is an example of my "Seasons Greetings" box.

Here is my "Sweet Treats" box.

This is my "Christmas Joy" box.

This is one I created for myself. I call this one "Forever My Baby".

Babies

17 months ago, I entered the world of mother-hood. This adventure has been filled with ups and downs but mostly ups. Sometimes I feel like pulling out my hair, but other times I just look at her and am just amazed by God's wonderful creation. This is why I made up my 10 things that I love about Kylie list.

1.) She wakes up singing every morning.
2.) She can count to "12"!
3.) I love when she giggles about giving me love bites on my cheek!
4.) How small and cuddly she is.
5.) How she holds pop can's , brushes, and flash cards up to her ear, and pretends that she is talking to Ernie or Elmo on the phone.
6.) I love when she dances to Jack's Big Music Show while saying "It's Jack's Big Music Show" at the end of the intro song.
7.) I love when she sees football on TV, she yells TOUCHDOWN while putting her hands up in the air!
8.) I love how she chases after Dakota the dog while trying to feed her a bone.
9.) How excited she gets when it is bath time or "baff" time as she says.
10.) I love how she always farts on daddy's leg.

Here's Gianni!

They say patience is a virtue. Sometimes I wonder why God gave me so much patience. When an autistic child is hitting you everyday and telling you how you should be wearing your hair and not to mention throwing his glasses down the toilet while his butt exposed.
But then I thought, who else is going to care for this child? Who else is going to be able to sit and wait for the tantrums to be over? God has given me a wonderful gift to be able to help Gianni (the hitting, bossy, throw his glasses in the toilet boy).

Every morning when he comes into the school I find myself saying "Here's Gianni!" I always know when he comes in if I'm going to have a good day with him or not. This morning he came in very hyper. Gianni didn't want to do anything but take control of every situation he could. Hanging on me like a monkey, and dancing around in circles. During extended day Kindergarten class, he turned the water spicket onto the counter top while I looked away for 1 second to help another child, and turned around to find a river on the bottom of the floor.
Hmmm, Virtue. I would say in fact that patience has been a virtue. I love this kid no matter how many times he hits, bites, and scratches me. No matter how many times he he tries to dictate my every move. Deep down inside, he is one of the most sweetest children I have met. I guess that caring and loving for this child has gained me much virtue.

New To this Blog Thing.

My best fiend Katie has always been one to inspire me. She has started a blog and it sparked my interests to start one of my own. I figure that keeping a blog will be a good way to keep friends and family informed of my crazy day-to-day life as well as give me a chance to look back on what I was doing in my life at age 30.

My daughter Kylie is now 16 months old. It will be fun to look back and share with her of all the adventures she encountered throughout her early life.

I will say that I am not much of a writer. I used to be, that is, back in the day of boy craziness in high school and such. You know how girls are at that adolescent age. But this will be my first attempt of writing a journal that is real and not stuffed with cheesy things like "Oh my gosh, he held my hand today!"

I promise to myself as well as my readers that I will try to write something small
every night after the little one goes to bed and I have some time to just relax.

So welcome to my blog and enjoy my random stories about me, my adorable daughter Kylie and my wonderful husband Steve. Who knows, maybe you will make it into one of my blogs someday.

God Bless and enjoy!
